A Woman's Life (and Love) was commissioned by Alta Marie Boover as a companion piece to Robert Schumann's 1830 song cycle, Frauenliebe und Leben, or "A Woman's Love and Life."

Jai Jeffryes has recorded piano music never recorded before. When pianist Jeffryes announced a call for contemporary piano scores on Twitter he received hundreds of submissions from composers all around the world and created Tangent Shores, devoted to helping talented composers be heard. He selected nine fresh and daring composers for the debut Tangent Shores release, entitled Amethyst.
